Now that football season was over, it meant cheerleading season was over. She would have stayed on for the winter season, but they already voted on a new cheerleading captain. So, Nicole didn't see the reason for her to stay around when it was obvious that no one else wanted her around. Besides, her parents saw her grades from this past marking period and wanted her to focus on her schoolwork. They cut off her allowance, which meant that Nicole would actually have to work for the first time of her life.
She was walking down the street last week when she saw a "for hire" sign at the bakery. After calling last week, Nicole had an interview with the owner. She was actually quite surprised to see how young the owner was. They were only five years apart. In five years, Nicole did not want to end up like her. The woman already had a kid in school and no man. Nicole would never have kids. They were just...icky.
The interview went well. At least, Nicole thought so. It was Sunday afternoon and she was just waiting for an order of two dozen cupcakes to come out of the oven. Her mother had asked Nicole to bring some home. So, she sat around the bakery and just looked at the decor. Yeah, this woman could definitely use Nicole's help.

CJ was in a relatively good mood. This morning had gone her way so far, and she defiantly needed a good pick me up to keep it that way. Her son was not due from school for another 20 minutes, and she was pretty sure that the nanny was going to pick him up today. She hopped into her car, and drove over to her favorite place for something warm and yummy. When she pulled into the parking lot of her best friends bakery, she killed the engine and made her way in. It was starting to get a bit chilly, so today she had on long, heeled boots, a snug fitting white, collards heavy duty wool shirt that had long sleeves and snow white flower designs all over it.
When she walked in, there was no one in the front that she could see. She frowned, by now, Satin was here, Andrew was still in school, and the bakery had already had a smooth line of people going in and out of it. She walked around, looking the Bakery over, trying to find Satin again. CJ tilted her head, and then headed over to the counter when she noticed a blond head moving around in the back. She dinged the bell, leaned over the counter, and called out, "Hey Satin, is that you back there?""I'm here for my afternoon pick me up." she called out as she stretched out and smirked. "Where's that New Girl That You Were Supposed To Look At Today?" she asked will she reached over and snagged a cookie from the plater that was right next to her.

Nicole watched as another woman enter the bakery. Then, the woman started calling for the owner. So, it looked like they knew each other. Nicole tried not to eavesdrop, but she couldn't help it. The woman was practically screaming. Then, she mentioned the "new girl." Uh, was that suppose to be her? Was she talking about her? "I think you might mean me," Nicole spoke up. "I was here for an interview. But, I'm just waiting for some cupcakes to come out of the oven. Satin's back there, getting them ready for me."
Nicole looked the woman up and down and came up with a first impression. She was pretty fair with dark hair, which actually kind of complimented her eyes. She wasn't exactly ugly, but it wasn't like she was going to be winning any beauty contests anytime soon. "I'm Nicole," she introduced herself. "I saw the sign last week and thought I could use an after school job. You know, to pay for stuff. Now that my parents decided to cut me off."
Maybe it was too much information to share with a complete stranger, but Nicole didn't care. She never liked secrets and didn't see the need to keep them. Though, she did keep a few secrets to protect the lifestyle she wanted to keep.

CJ was actually a bit more then surprised when someone other then Satin or Andrew came to the front to answer her. She raised an eyebrow and looked the girl over quickly, she didn't look like one of those demented children who would cause hell for anyone. She actually liked kind of sweet, maybe a bit of a mouth on her, which CJ could always tell because of how she had been at her age, but otherwise friendly.
"Oops." CJ stated with a smile, "My apologizes for the nose level hun. I'm not very used to having anyone other then Satin or Drew to deal with here." She stated with a bit of a bashful smile. She must have known who the owner was, but did she knew who Drew was? It wasn't as though Sating was hiding it, she came right out and would tell people that Andrew was her son. She raised an eyebrow and wondered just what this girl knew about Satin. Tilting her head, she made her way over to the girl and smiled. "Your waiting for cupcakes? Let me help you with those, I helped Satin all the time when she gets huge orders of them"
"Besides, it'll give you a chance to get to know one of this bakery's best customers." CJ informed her with a laugh. It was true, not only was her best friend the owner, but her Nephew was here after school, and where ever Andrew was, Milo loved to visit. Plus it didn't hurt that CJ and Satin would often indulge the boys in sweets after school for good behavior and such. "I'm CJ by the way, CJ Williams-Hently" she told the girl, offering her hand. She heard what the girl said about her parent's cutting her off. She grimaced, "Wow, being cut off must be annoying" CJ sympathized, although she had never been cut off, she wondered if she wouldn't have been better off being cut off rather then having to put up with her parents for years.
She leaned over the counter and smiled, "So how about it? I have a few hours to kill before I have to go." CJ told her with another smile.

Nicole had no idea who Drew was, but she played along, and just nodded her head. She had no idea who this woman was, but apparnetly she was really tight with the owner. That's fine. Then, she introduced herself. "I'm Nicole Dugan," she said, taking the hand and shaking it. "Yeah, being cut off is only half of the story. But, whatever. I guess working is good. This place doesn't seem so bad."
Nicole looked around, trying to find something else to talk about. She wasn't very good at conversations. Especially with people she didn't really know. "Well, I guess, you can help," she said, shrugging her shoulders. "Satin's mixing the frosting now. The cupcakes are still baking, so I got some time." It wasn't a big order. Her mother order a dozen red velvet cupcakes.

By the look on the girls face when CJ had said the name Drew, CJ figured she had no idea who the hell that was. She giggled, well, Nicole would be in for it when she found out who he was. And as sweet at the kid was, and he was utterly adorable, he could also be a tad demanding. Just like her brother was. In her head, CJ sighed, Like Father, Like Son. She thought as she put together the two behaviors. She couldn't help but wonder just how much else the two might have in common.
After all, she didn't get a chance to see much over thanksgiving because of the EVENT. It still pissed her off that she had spent two days getting everything ready, and they had ruined it in about ten minutes. "So, how long has it been since they cut you off?" CJ asked Nicole as she ducked under and behind the counter. She loved helping Satin with her baking. And this would give her a chance to get to know this girl a little better. She could tell that she was a good girl.
