As Jack entered the church, he did the sign of the cross and began to sit down near the back of the church and waited for the mass to be done so he could do his praying separate.
Jack was never really a religious man but he was in his time of need. He needed something or someone to believe be it god or some other worldly power. Who ever would forgive Jack for the things he would done, he would take. He wasn't ready to face the priest yet. Father Patrick would be very disappointed in him. The last time Jack went to go see him, he was 16 and had lost his virginity to his French teacher. His mother said "He was going to hell." Jack swore after that day that he would never return to the church.
The service ended and he waited for everyone to leave. Jack soon began his prayer with his rosary. "Our Father, Who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen."

And I saw The Tears on Your Face. I Shot You Down And I Slammed The Door. But Couldn't Make A Sound. So Please Stay Sweet My Dear. Don't Hate Me Now. I can't Tell How This Last Song Ends. The Way That I Feel Tonight. I Pray I Can Swim Just So I won't Drown. And The Waves That Crash Over Me, I Am Gasping For Air. Take My Hand So I Can Breath. As I Write This Last Song Down.
Lily had not been to one of these things for about a good three years. How could she have? After the things she had seen, and done, and let be done to her after a while. But this was supposed to be her second change. She had just moved back about three months ago, and she almost everything settled right about now. It was tiring, getting up and moving all of a sudden. But it had been for the best. While she had been up front, she had grabbed a Rosary Bead Necklace, the last time she had checked, she had been some sort of Catholic. Lilian made her way to the confession booth. "Forgive Me Father, For I Have Sinned." She began, she braced her self as he asked her that all important, soul bearing question. "And what are your sins my child?"
Lily snorted, "Where to begin," She commented with a sigh. The pastor tilted his head and made a sign for her to begin, "From the beginning is always best my child." He told her with a soft smile. "From The Beginning huh? Well then, strap in father, this is going to be a very bumpy confession." She told him in a wary voice. She hadn't even started yet, and she could already feel the weight of guilt on her shoulders. "Well, for one, I got married at 17. But I had my own problems, and I couldn't cope well when our problems collided, so i left him. No explanation, no telling when I would be back. Just packed up what I needed and took off. Haven't seen him for a good six or seven years." And once she had started, she could not stop.
Twenty Minutes later, she had confessed everything she had been holding in for the past six maybe seven years. And she had talked the poor pastors ear clear off. There was silence, almost as if he were adding up her sins to see just how he would help her self be saved. Finally came the response, "Say 15 hail mary's my child. Pray every night for forgiveness, and not only from our father, my child." He told her. She almost laughed out loud at that one. "And remember, the almighty father loves all his children. And where one flaw comes in, he balances us out with about three other ways to regain our connection with him." She put her hand over her mouth to keep from snickering at that one. Uh huh. Now she remembered just WHY she had stopped coming to church in the first place. When she had properly composed her self, she took a deep breath and pushed out, "Thank you kindly father." Before she managed to scurry out of the box.
She sighed as she made her way down the isle. There were a few other people here, kneeling on the phee knee rests and praying their little hearts out. She was just about to pass one when she heard a praying being said. Out of sheer habit, and politeness, she stopped, and waited for them to be done, before she had time to think about what she was doing, she had called out softly, "Amen,"

Jack turned his as someone said "amen" and looked up at the person. Jack thought that he would never see her again. After she left him, a month or so after they had gotten married, he got himself emancipated for her. He cut off the rest of the ties he had with his family for her and she just left him. Jack got up off his knees and looked down at her with a very solemn look on his face. "Hello Lilly"

He looked so solemn. She raised her eyebrow and tilted her head. She didn't know if this was exactly the best time to be talking to him. The air around them seemed so stiff and uncomfortable. "Are your ears burning?" she asked in a joking manner.
"I was just talking about you." she told him with a slight smile. "Hey, don't look like you've just seen a ghost." Lily said with a sigh. "It's been a while. How have you been Jack? Or should I say, husband?" She asked him with a slight smirk. Technically it was still true. They had never gotten the marriage annulled and they had never gotten a devoirce.

Jack winced when he he heard her say "husband". "We aren't married anymore Lily. We haven't been married for 7 years. Technically, we are, but thats only a technicality that can be changed very quickly" he said "As far as all of MY friends know we are divorced."
Lily was making all of these jokes and Jack just stood still and not smiling. "Why are you here?" he asked

Ah, so their marriage was still a touchy subject huh? Well what was she supposed to say to him? After seven years, what do you tell the person that you loved and still might have some slight feelings for, the reason she left was because she had felt too strongly about her insecurities. She sighed both inwardly and out. "It doesn't have to be like that Jack..." How to continue, she didn't really know the answer to this her self.
Maybe the truth would fly better with him then? "We were young...I was scared that you would hate me after a while, because as much as I loved you, I didn't think I was good enough FOR you." She shock her head and ran a hand as far through her golden locks as the curly things would let her. His friends. Yeah, that's what they had to be right about now. No doubt that they had thought she had dropped off the face of the earth or something. People that she had loved so much, people that had been everything to her. Lilian had driven them away all in that one night with that one stupid wrong choice. "If you want me to sign papers or whatever, then I guess I will. I deserve all that and everything else you can dish out at me." She sounded a bit chocked up right now, and her eyes were stinging.
"Do you still hate me Jack? Even after all these years?" she whispered, She didn't know if he had even heard her. Right now she supposed it wouldn't matter much. He looked and sounded furious, like hell had flung open its gates and thrown her out just for him. The stinging behind her eyes became stronger and Lily sighed lowering her head. "Well, I came here to this church today, to make piece. But it looks like someone had other ideas and wanted me to do so face to face." She frowned, cursing her inability to look at him right now. "Today would have been-" she froze; reminding him that today was their anniversary really wasn't a good idea. If she had remembered correctly, there had been few things that could push Jack to the point where he got violent. But from the look of his eyes, she wasn't sure if this was one of those one things.

"Do I hate you?" Jack said, he soon laughed after saying that "I got emancipated for you and cut all my family ties. Because of you, my relationship with my parents and my siblings is awful. I barely speak to my brother anymore and he needs me more then ever now. I bought you a house, a nice one and we didn't even get to live in it because you left." he said to her in a hushed voiced.
Jack didn't want to yell in the sacred house of God. It wasn't right and then have everyone else in the church think he was a lunatic or that he didn't care. Jack pulled Lily into a corner of the church where nobody would hear them or think that he didn't care.
"Our marriage was a random thing and we didn't really think it out. I was a horny teenage boy who just wanted to have sex with you, but you wanted to wait till you got married." he replied in a very harsh voice "I can't even remember what I was thinking when I proposed too you. I don't even know why I did it now. It was a very stupid move on my part."
Jack took a breathe trying to calm himself down, it was hard being in front of Lily and have all this anger come back up. He was looking for something-but not his estranged wife.
"I wanted to marry another girl not to long ago, but I couldn't find you to get a divorce, so I broke that girls heart."

"Then do what you have to Jack! You apparently know what that is...hell, you've practically laid out the plan already." Her voice was shaking, "Even if your the only one who doesn't believe in this marriage anymore." Her world was starting to spin, and she knew that it was going to happen sooner or later. He might as well see what he was dealing with. "Go Be with one of them....I'll set your free if that's what you really want..." It killed her to say it, she honestly felt like she was going to be ripped to shreds soon.
The only other person she had let know about her getting married, was her Aunt. And even though she had thought it was a bad idea, she had signed off on the papers for the marriage. Her aunt had done a lot of things for her, against her mother's warnings not to do so. She felt like she had been punched in the stomach when he told her he would have rather have been married to one of the others girls he had been in a relationship with. She felt like her head was being pressed into the wall, her breathing became shallow pants again. She winched violently and wrapped her arms around her self in a cross like motion across her chest. DAMN IT. They were in a church for Christ sake; he was sure as hell picking the wrong time to get mad at her, and she didn't have control over when these episodes started.
Another punch to the gut when he practically admitted that she had been used then. So he was no better then those other little boys who had wanted to get into her pants! And to think she had trusted him, allowed her self to fall for him, despite her intense fear of ever being emotionally attached to a person like that. He had used her in the end. So wasn't her living, him getting his just deserts? An eye for an eye, and all that jazz. She had to get out of here. She needed to get away before she had another episode. She didn't want him to find out about those yet. Not now, not like this. It would seem like the worse kind of con out there to him.

Jack turned his back on Lily and didn't look back. He went to wards the confession booth. He was finally ready for God and Father Patrick to forgive him for his sins.
"Bless me father for I have sinned" he said as he sat down in the booth "It has been 8 years since my last confession" "And what are your sins my child?" said Father Patrick "Well, I haven't been the nicest to my parents or my brothers and sisters" Jack said beginning "My brother got a girl pregnant and then got into a car accent and he is now crippled. I haven't spoken to him since the hospital."
Jack began to tell Father Patrick more about Zach's accident and more about his family and then he decided to bring up Lily. "I have slept with women who aren't my wife" he said "My wife left me seven years ago and since then I have slept with 7 women and gave my heart to another. So that is 8 women, and I only slept with 7 of the them" Jack told Father Patrick.
He explained that Lily had come back to most likely try and work things out with him and all he could say were awful things.
"But when I see Lily again, I get the same feelings I did when we were teenagers, the same wishy-washy feeling, and all I wanted to do was hold her hand or kiss her, she makes me want her even more, but with the seven years it makes me...angry and hurt. And I don't want to forgive her. I don't think I can." Jack said
"Forgiveness takes time, Jack and Our Heavenly Father will help you with that if you let him. Other wise, say 10 hail Marys and pray with your rosary every night. Blessed Be"
"Thank You Father" said Jack walking out of the booth. When Jack was walking out of the booth, he saw Lily praying. He had decided that he would say good-bye. He walked up to wear Lily was sitting and sat down next to her. "Good-Bye Lily"
