December 1oth 6pm
Xander was just getting off from work. Things had been going smoothly for a while at the office, so he decided to go ahead and give him self a treat. He had also treated the staff to coffee this morning. Needless to say, he was feeling pretty generous today. He smiled as he headed to Dairy Queen. He was in the mood for a large bowl of chocolate chip and brownie blizzard. He smirked as he gave the order to the girl who was sitting there slightly drooling.
He paid her, and then smirked, telling her to keep the change. He then went over to the table and sat down. "Aw, the joys of ice cream," Ok, so what if it was cold as hell. There were some days you just HAD to have some Ice Cream. And Today, rain, shine, snow, or hail, was one of those days. Xander sat there, in his coat and office cloths and all, and munched on his treat.

Andrew wanted ice cream, even though it was freezing outside. Satin was never good at saying "no" to her little boy. But, since Henry had left, she had been willing to do whatever Andrew had wanted. She really shouldn't be eating ice cream. She was suppose to try and lose some weight. Ever since she opened the bakery, she had been eating cookies and cupcakes all the time. Satin sometimes forgot what real food was.
She ordered a banana split ice cream sundae for Andrew and decided to split it. She paid for the treat, then went to look for a table. Then, she spotted a familiar friend. "Xander," she greeted happily. "Nice running into you." She walked over and joined Xander. "Andrew, do you remember mommy's friend? Xander?"
He gave a nod, but Satin wasn't sure if he really did remember. Satin handed Andrew his sthingy and he went to town on the ice cream. "So, how have you been," she asked him. "Been reading the newspaper everyday."

Xander looked up when he heard his name called. "Well lookie here, a treat to go with my treat" Xander said with a laugh. He couldn't help it, old habits die hard. He smiled as she and her little boy came and joined her. "Hey little man, how's it going?" Xander asked as he looked down at Andrew. By the look on the little boys face, he could tell that he would have said yes to almost anything his father had asked. He just wanted to sit there and enjoy his ice cream.
He reached over and ruffled his head softly. "I've been ok, business has been going smoothly for a while, were in the middle of getting the special edition ready." He told her with a smile. When he heard that she had been reading the paper every day, he smiled even more. "Well that's good to hear. I'll get you a special if you want" he told her with a laugh. "What brings you here to such a cold place?" he asked her.

Andrew wasn't exactly friendly with Xander, but he was a bit preoccuped with his ice cream to really be talkative. Satin took her own sthingy and ate some of the vanilla chocolate. "Well, Andrew wanted ice cream," she explained. "You would think with the weather, he might had wanted hot chocolate or something."
"You know, we should really hang out one of these days," she said to Xander. They never really hanged out before, but the few times they had spent time together was always fun. And, she was pretty sure that a night out with Xander would be more than exciting. "Do you still keep in touch with anyone from high school? We should all go out or something. I can find a baby sitter for this one." Satin said tilting her head towards Andrew.

Xander laughed when Satin told him why she was out here. "Well, I can't blame him. I was in the mood for some my self."He told her holding up his blizzard bowl. There was still a lot left in the bowl, but his mouth was getting really cold. He smirked and looked over at the two of them. "Hey, I'm actually getting a bit chilly, how about we finish our treats somewhere warmer?" he asked the two of them shifting so he could get up easier if they agreed. "I'm not too far from here, I'll give ya a lift, unless your parked?"
Satin had asked him if he had kept in touch with people from high school. His high school years had ended two years before hers had, but he nodded anyways. "Well, Jason and I are in constant contact. But I also see El, and hear from Billy and Tiffany. I know that the legendary CJ is in town, and now and then I'll see a few of the others from both your class and mine." He told her with a shrug. She told him that they should hang out more, and he chuckled with a nod of his head."Your right, we should hang out more. But Andrew can come too tonight, So how about that lift?

"That sound great," Satin said, nodding. It would definitely be great if they could be somewhere warmer. "I actually didn't bring a car...I actually don't own a car. Not yet, anyway. One day, when the bakery is doing better. But, everything I need in town is in walking distance so I don't need it just yet." She turned to Andrew, who she was pretty sure didn't care if they were getting a ride. He got what he wanted.
"Well, I talk to CJ all the time," he told her. "So, if you call Jason, I can get CJ to come out and hang out sometime." Satin got up from her seat and took the ice cream away from Andrew. It was a better idea if she held the ice cream than trust Andrew. He might drop it. "Thanks, Xander. A lift would be great." Andrew climbed down from his seat and waited.

Xander shrugged when she said that they could get him, Jason, her and CJ together. It didn't sound like a bad idea, a bunch of grown ups together for a night out. Why the hell not, he hadn't had some serious fun in a while anyway. Well, not counting that bank teller on her lunch break. Yeah...that had been fun all right. He nodded his head in agreement, "Well, I know I'm going to be a bit busy for this month..."
Then he got to thinking, "Tell ya what, The editorial Staff puts the Final touches on the December Special Edition paper in about three weeks." Tilting his head, he told her, "I'll call up Jason and see when he has free, but I know any time after that, I'm good." He didn't want her to feel like he was blowing her off or anything like that, he really did want to hang out with her one of these days. They hadn't done so back then, but he was pretty sure that she was still as fun loving as she had been back then. "We could do it at my place if the don't feel like a night out. Or meet up at the night club, pretty much anything is cool."
She agreed to going some place warmer, and he was glad she did, because the wind was starting to blow now. The one slight set back to living some place with such high altitudes...was that it could get mighty cold. He looked down at Andrew, saw a slight shiver, and grabbed his keys out of his pocket. "Hey little man, Wanna Piggy Back It To My Car?" he asked the little boy with a smile. He looked cold, and after having eaten ice cream, well, Xander could see why. He knelt down and waited for him to get on, and when he was, he made sure he was secure before turning back to Satin, "Well come on then, We'll get you guys warmed up in no time."
He walked them over to his car, a Red 2008 Hummer. Pressing the automatic unlock button on the remote on his keys, he motioned for Satin to climb in while he headed to the back to get Andrew situated. "You can buckle your self, right pal?" When that was all taken care of, Xander closed the back door and climbed into the drivers seat. He stuck the key in the ignition, and as soon as the car came to life, he leaned over the dash board and cranked the heat. "Next stop, El Casa De Kovol." He called out with a laugh as they pulled out of the parking lot of Dairy Queen and onto the road towards his house.
Xander couldn't understand at all how Satin didn't have a car. It couldn't be easy for her right now, having just moved back into town and all. Xander looked back at Andrew in the mirror and gave him a smile,"Hey little Man, what's your favorite radio station?" He wanted to help her, so after about a minute or two, he looked over at her and said, "Ya know, I've got a friend who can get you a good deal on a second hand car. It can't be easy getting him to school in this kind of weather."

"It sounds like a plan," Satin said nodding her head. It really didn't matter what they did or where they did it. Satin just wanted a night out. It had been so long since she was able to go out with people her age and just relax. She was always worried about Andrew. But, now that he was old enough to use the bathroom and eat by himself, she felt it was okay to have a babysitter to watch after Andrew. Maybe she could ask Nicole to watch after Andrew for some extra cash.
Then, they headed out to the car. It was nice to see Xander interact with Andrew. "You know, you're great with kids," she said, smiling. "Thinking about having some of your own one day?" Satin smirked as she asked the question. That would be something to see. Xander Kovol walking around with kids. Satin made sure that he buckled in alright before buckling herself in.
"You know, I'm actually excited about seeing your house," she said laughing. "I kind of pictured it as a big bachelor pad. Am I right?" Satin chuckled. She listened as he told her about a car. "Well, I lived in New York City, and you really didn't need a car. So, I learned to deal without it. When I did live in town, Henry had a car. So, he drove. But, yeah, I guess, now would be a good time to get a car."
"If you could give me your friend's number, I would definitely think about it," Satin said. "Thanks, Xander." Satin couldn't really afford to buy a brand new car because of the bakery. She had a loan on the store and until she started making a profit, she couldn't really afford to buy a car without it looking bad on her credit record. So, maybe a used car would be good.

So she was a go on the plan to get together when he was all said and done with the December issue. That was good, he was sure that they could all use some adult time away from the kids, work, and stress. When Satin commented and complemented about the way he was with children, Xander could feel a slight pink coming to his cheeks. "Well, I've had tons of practice. Becca has two ticks of her own. A boy and a girl. Well, Twins really." She told Satin with a bit of a sigh in the under tone. Satin was not the only one who had gotten pregnate right after high school. And when Xander had found out, he had been furious. His mother had been almost heart broken, and his father....well, let's just say his father had taken things a bit too far and had literally tracked the poor bastard down. "Besides, Kids are a Breeze, as long as you can keep them happy, safe, and entertained." He told her with a chuckle. "I have lots of practice doing all three."
He laugh when she asked if he was thinking about his own someday. "Hey, you never know." He told her with a shrug. "It wouldn't be the worse thing in the world. Just gotta find that girl that doesn't make me feel like running first." He said in a joking manner to Satin. But in his head, he was thinking about two that got away, Kate and El. He had cared for Kate in some ways, if she had stayed, they might have had something. Granted, it would have been difficult for him to conform, but he would have done it, eventually. But when he really thought about it, there had been no one who could touch him like El.
She made him nervous, and happy, and scared, and anger, all in the same instance with those intense eyes and the way that she just....was. But Kate was somewhere in New York, and had most likely moved on from her high school crush. And El....El was no where to be found. She had just up and gone, again. A bit of pain flashed through his eyes and his heart gave a squeeze. But now was not the time to think of such sad things, he looked back at Andrew in the mirror and spoke again, "Is this ok with you Buddy?" he asked putting the radio station on Radio Disney. He wasn't sure if Andrew as ok with it or not, but he knew that was what his niece and nephew loved when they were driving in the car.
The next words out of Satin's mouth made Xander laugh so hard he almost forgot that they were now sitting in front of a green light. He took a quick look at her, "You pictured it did you?" he asked her chuckling again. That wasn't the first time he had heard something like that come from a womans's mouth. He shock his head, "Well, I'm not telling." He stated laughing as he made a right turn and they were getting close to his house. She was, sort of right, sort of wrong. It was a bit of a bachelor pad as she had said. But there was one HUGE difference. When he and El had been on speaking terms...he had let her go crazy on the inside of his house. He half regretted it, because it was a consent reminder of their time together. And it hurt.
"You'll see when we get there." He added with a laugh, "Were actually not that far away." When Satin asked for the friend's number, Xander smiled, both inside and out. "I'll do you one better. I'll take you down there my self whenever your ready." He assured her, making sure to let her hear the weight on then when she was ready part. There was no rushing things, he just wanted to make sure that she did it, because he had a feeling it would be better for her and Andrew if she did. "We'll get you a good price and an excellent model and everything." Added Xander with a nod or two. "Till then, don't hesitate to ask if you need a lift or something." He told her as he leaned over and bumped her shoulder in a light and friendly way.

It was actually a big surprise to hear about Xander's sister having kids. Satin actually knew Rebecca and hung out in high school together. However, Rebecca was never really careful. So, maybe it wasn't that much of a surprise. Either way, it was weird to hear about all of these people that Satin knew that had their own kids.
Satin laughed along about his "bachelor pad." She turned around to check on Andrew, who was still sitting still. She took a few bites of the ice cream sundae because it was starting to melt. However, she made sure that she didn't eat all of it. That would be bad. "Thanks, Xander," she said. But, it didn't seem like she would need a ride. Afterall, she had RJ now to help her out. Henry would be back for the holidays and he'll be able to help out, by then, too. However, she didn't want to turn him down. He was just being helpful.

Xander gave Satin a, 'What-are-friends-for?' look before he turned his attention back to the streets. They had just turned down his street and in a minute or two would end up in front of his house. He looked over and grinned at Satin, "We are on my street now." With a laugh he added, "The house is right there." He told her pointing to the condo styled red/brown painted two store house that they were pulling up to. Xander hit a button on his dash board as soon as they pulled into the drive way and up went his garage door. He parked the car, turned it off, and then unlocked the passenger doors.
"Heya buddy. You want another piggy back in?" He asked answer as he turned to open his door. He slid out of his car with ease, and then opened Andrew's door and waited for him to unbuckle him self. Once that was all done, he turned and gave his back to Andrew, who hopped onto him and then he swung the door closed. His garage door closed shut behind them as soon as Satin was out, and he locked the car doors with the remote. "Come on in" He said as he lead the way into the house for the two of them. The inner garage door was never locked, so he went through there and they ended up in the hall way that lead to the rest of the house. "Do what you wish with your shoes." He said as he let Andrew down and pulled off his own.
The carpet was a soft honey brown, to go with the paint on the walls. The inside of the house gave off a warm glow, the kind that made you want to stay inside for the most part. He had a maid come every other day to clean, so it was pretty neat for the most part. There was a huge TV sitting in the living room, and three couches, one long and two short, along with a love seat and a bean bag chair were stationed around it. On the floor was a new Xbox 360 that Xander sometimes relieved his responsibility free day's on. He smirked at the thought of what he was doing last night, messing around on the Xbox when he was supposed to be working on a new piece that had just been given to him.
The walls were a nice, cool,color. The curtains matched the carpet, but they were a tad lighter. The dinning room table was an off white, kind of large, since he had people over almost all the time. But there was an island there too, which is where Xander did most of his eating. As for the kitchen, everything was stainless steal and practically doubled. Double oven, double counter stove, double fridge. El had done a good job with the place. It was very homie when she was done with it. But it wasn't much of a macho stance. It was just...comfortable. Which was one thing Xander loved it for. After all, why sit around trying to impress people. Just make it feel like some where you want to be, and you'll have a great place. "Welcome, to Che Kovol." he said turning around to smirk at Satin. "Make your selves's at home."
He pulled off his coat, and put it on the coat rack, he then turned to take Satin and Andrew's coats and put them there too. He smiled at Andrew, and then squatted down, "Hey buddy, there's a game room through that door right there. And there's a new x-box, with a bunch of games in the living room. Go crazy, ok?" He told the little boy with a chuckle. "You have my premission to be as loud, and as messy as you want to be." He got up and offered him his hand, but he was looking back at Satin "You want the grand tour? We can start with the game room for Andrew's sake."

Satin looked out the windshield to look at Xander's condo. It was pretty nice, but then again, Xander always had money. Now that she had basically cut off any ties with her parents, she hadn't really been able to ask for money from them. It wasn't as if they gave her much money in the first place. Perhaps, her father may have, but he did not have that close of a relationship with her father. But, she wasn't complaining. She was grateful for what she had.
They walked into the house, and she quickly took in the decorating. Yeah, Xander definitely did not decorate this by himself. Xander wasn't this good. Satin took off her shoes and coat. She handed the coat to Xander, then went over to help Andrew off with his shoes and coat. As soon as Xander told Andrew about the games, his eyes lit up. "Xander, he's not old enough to play video games," she said, laughing. She shook her head towards Andrew, and he looked disappointed. Well, it looked like his ice cream was going to be left untouched. So, she walked over into the kitchen and placed it in the freezer. She knew that he would eventually want the ice cream again after playing.
Then, Xander offered a toured, which she would definitely love. "Yeah, that's a great idea," Satin said, joining Xander and Andrew. Of course, Andrew may not know how to play any videogames, but he sure as hell would press every button pretending he knew how to play.

Xander snorted when Satin teasingly told him that Andrew couldn't play video game. With a huge smirk on his face, he hosted Andrew on onto his shoulder. He tickled the boy until his shrieks of laughter rang out across the house. "Phs, just because he is not old enough to actually play them, doesn't mean he shouldn't." He told Satin with a laugh. It didn't matter if something happened to the control or even the game. Xander was pretty sure that he could just replace whatever needed to be replaced afterwards.
He didn't like to think that about his guest, no matter what age or size they were, being bored in any way shape or form. He smirked as he lead the way into the next room. He pushed it open and did this thing where he showed off the room. "This of course is the game room." He put Andrew down and they walked into the room. "See anything you want to try out Andrew?" Xander asked with a smirk. Anything that Andrew say that he liked, he was pretty sure he would let him have. It wasn't like he was trying to bribe Satin's kid or anything, he just didn't have enough time to sit around and play with everything that was in this room. He may have been a little kid at heart and enjoyed everything video game wise, but he had to put the over drive on the new paper things; the special edition needed to be put out before New Years.
